ReSteltman

ReSteltman, inspired by Gerrit Rietveld's iconic designs, is a modern twist on minimalism. As the precursor to Restacked, it laid the groundwork for exploring versatility and blurs the line between functionality and art.

December, 2021

See ReSteltman live during Object Rotterdam 2025, from the 14th until the 16th of February at Air Offices in the city center.

The chair is made of a sturdy steel frame with a geometric, stylized design that balances between a functional object and a piece of art. ReSteltman is not just a chair for comfort; it’s a design element that defines the space in which it stands. It combines aesthetics with functionality through its structural simplicity and refined form.

While ReSteltman originated as a chair, it has the potential to fit into various spaces and styles. It can be a centerpiece in a modern living room, a statement in an office, or even part of a gallery or exhibition space. The chair is both a functional object and a work of art, inviting conversations about the role of furniture in our daily lives.

ReSteltman was the first step in developing Restacked. The design helped me push the boundaries of traditional furniture and apply the concepts of multifunctionality and flexible space. It is the foundation upon which Restacked was further developed and remains an important part of my design philosophy.

A miniature of this design is now part of the traveling exhibition of MH EXPO more info on their website.
